Galaxy
he galaxy as we know it , is usually seen on a singular plane (Overhead view) as our lack of ability to actually see it from the outside. Intercepted signals from other galaxies however has enlightend us to the physical nature of the galaxy. The first signal was recieved from the orbiting galaxy, in which we use to to align for determination of galactic time, called Usina. Our Galaxy
When Viewed from a more perspective angle, we see that the original concept of the galaxy, was merely showing only the Alpha Spiral. The two items of the Galaxy previously unknown are the Beta Sprial, and the Galactic Column which binds the two together. The physics involved in the binding of the two are currently only in speculation, but the main thoery to holding is the presence of the two Lightgates at the center of each sprial core. It has been confirmed that each lightgates are Expletun in origin. The lightgates actually use a connected black hole which spans the distance through the galactic Column.
NOTE: The bulk of what goes on in USI-RPG, will take place in the Alpha Spiral. A Seperate RPG, Affinity has been created for the Beta Sprial. The Galactic Column, has not been explored in any fashion as of yet.
Alpha Spiral
The Alpha Spiral is divided up into three sections, called trisectors; Omega, Delta, Zeta. The Galactic Core and Rim are considered different sections, but not seperate trisectors. Currenty the Entire Core ( as defined by the map below ) is controlled by USI, as well as the RIM. The Galactic Column and Beta Spiral will not be displayed at this time.
USI has taken claim to the Core and the Rim of the galaxy in an effort to maintain a widespread eye on Darkarian Activity. This is advantagous to USI as well as USI as the Rim and the Core are not wanted by any other faction or Species. These area's are often times extremely dangerous and somewhat unpredictable.
Political Overview
The Unified Space Intelligence Does not own nor control the STNN gateways. After the Expletuns created them they also gave all technology faring civilizations the ability to create them. Most simply do not create more as they provide a security risk if placed strategically ill to their faction and allies. Most STNN's are equipped with automated heavy defenses which retaliat if the STNN is attacked. For more information regarding the STNN, please see the Technology Database.
