For its size, the Asterism is quick and highly maneuverable. Designed to be active within a battle it excels in both acting as a SFC Launching platform as well as actively engaging in large dogfights. The Asterism class ships has proven itself as vital to the USI fleet in its battle against the Darkarian. Its large crew enable it to have the man power for sustained battles, however this limits its range in many cases requiring a Maj or HiComm carrier or frequent resupply of perishables (food, water, etc.)
